False Auto Insurance Claim Against A Friend?

A very close friend of mine received a call from his auto insurer yesterday regarding a 3rd party claim against him. According to the 3rd party, my friend hit their parked car (which was parked on the curb in front of their home), then parked his own car, went up to their house, rang their doorbell and exchanged insurance information. The 3rd party claims that this took place in a town that's more than 1 hour away from where we work and live. This allegedly happened 3 months ago. There are two major problems with this story: A- The alleged incident never happened. I carpool with my friend to and from work and was with him that night. B- The 3rd party has all of his insurance information. Could the insurance company have called the wrong person (i.e. gotten policy numbers mixed-up while processing the claim)? If not, how could a 3rd party have his insurance information? How common are fraudulent insurance claims (against another person)? And has anything similar happened to you or someone you know? My friend is a little worried because there is some minor damage to his rear bumper. We live in a major city and pretty much every 3rd car has nicks and scratches along the bumper from parking garage 'mysteries' and whatnot. Also, about 8 months ago, a young woman rear-ended us while we stationary, waiting to turn left at an intersection. Other than a scratch to his rear bumper caused by her license plate bolt, there was no cosmetic damage, and while we exchanged insurance information, my friend decided not to file a claim (she was very nice and didn't look as though she had a lot of money). I'd hate to think that it's her trying to commit fraud against him...

i got in a car accident with no insurance. (I ALREADY KNOW. Ok I know my son is responsible and wants to me about this matter but would like some help if someone knows since most places are closed on the weekends that would help with this. Was thinking of moving my family up to portland area,I have insurance here in california though my employer for my family,I will be seeking employment in portland area or close to,but until I get though the probation period of 90 days ,lord willing I find a good job right away .I need to make sure my two young kids will be covered medically incase something were to happen,one of my children is special needs so we get help though the state of california with phyical and learning theropy.Really would love to get my family out of los angeles as soon as we save up some start up money,Any helpful info about low cost or free state insurance ,childrens services ,family help would be great.

Motorcycle trip in california, suggestions?

Is my insurance company ripping me off?

righto, my current insurance is 3800 (steep but hey, belfast is a bad place for car insurance) with my job as a full time student. i'm no longer a full time student, i'm now a full time engineering apprentice. getting a quote, it drops my insurance to around 2400. i phoned my insurance people to tell them this and they said that because i was still full time in a learning environment, i'm a FT student. i disagree with this, what do you think?

i really need to get a check up at a gyno. for the last 5-6 months ive been having a very irregular period. i never had problems with that at all. ive heard that stress and extreme dieting could be the cause but as far as that goes i am a normal and healthy 22yr old women. its just frustrating on me and my boyfriend. eeevery month the same thing... im late for my period... sometimes up to 3 weeks. i even skipped my period for 2 month straight in january. i dont have insurance and and a very low budget as i mentioned above, so if anyone knows where i can go to or what to do pleaselet me know. :) thx!

Cheapest possible car insurance...?

I'm just about to get my license, I have next to no experience. My parents aren't offering to pay ANY, yet they are nearly forcing me to get my license, which is next to insurance. Everyone is telling me my only option is to pay like 200 frickin bucks a month. I can't spend that much money, I don't have time to earn that much money, It's almost a hopeless situation. I have 2 years no claims bonus and im 19 and only drive a little 1.4 honda civic, but my insurance premium this year is apparantly going to be 900 (cheapest quote) is there any way of lowering this utterly rediculous price?
